“Wo kehte hain Chowkidar Chor hai. Chowkidar chor nahi hai, Chowkidar pure hai. Desh ki samasyaon ka cure hai (They call Chowkidar a thief. He is not a thief, he is pure. He is the cure for all problems of the country,” Singh said adding that the Opposition had forgotten the manners by calling the PM such names.
Addressing a gathering at the inauguration of BJP’s election office in Yamuna Vihar in North East Delhi parliamentary constituency, represented by singer-turned politician and party’s Delhi unit president, Singh said it was the Congress government which gave out loans of Rs18 lakh crore between 2008 and 2014 and allowed the defaulters to leave the country.
“We will find them wherever they are hiding and put them behind the bars. We will not spare any one,” Singh said. The BJP is under attack from the Opposition parties for letting industrialist Vijay Mallya and PNB multi-crore scam accused Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi to flee the country.
Singh also criticised the opposition parties for questioning the success of the IAF air strike on Balakot in Pakistan by asking the number of terrorists killed in the attack, Singh said the action was taken following “credible inputs from intelligence agencies” about the hideouts. “The count of the number of terrorists killed in the air strike will come out in due course of time. But our government took a decisive action on credible inputs that we got. It was not an attack on a country (Pakistan) or its forces but on the terror camps,” Singh said.
Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party for misleading people, Singh said the Arvind Kejriwal-led party had failed to fulfil the promises it made to the people of Delhi ahead of the 2015 state assembly elections. “I want to ask you if the AAP government installed CCTV cameras it had promised? Do you get 20,000 litres of free water every month? Did they manage to open 20 new colleges and 500 schools? It is only the BJP which fulfils the promises it makes to the people. We would never promise you anything that we cannot provide,” he said.
